Rest

I have no doubt that going to Palm Springs with just our family of 4 was the best decision!  And that in and of itself is a gift from God because I was horribly torn and unsettled about it for 2 weeks.  What a gift that time was for our family.  Driving away from dropping the girls off with the family who provided respite care for us I immediately felt a sense of relief.  My shoulders relaxed, the noise level dropped and I rejoiced in the coming days of getting a break.

Our family got to reconnect.  We loved playing together, laughing together, splashing together and eating together.  No food wars, no picky eaters, no complainers.  Just kids eating, and being thankful for the food in front of them, especially since it was lots of junk food and treats!

We got pool time, sunny weather, movie time, snuggles and game time.  We celebrated our 5 year old and we all had fun being together.

It was a fabulous time of rejuvenation, regaining the energy needed to press on, and getting a little space from it all.  It was FANTASTIC!  Being in the midst of a challenge and working to exhaustion, makes you appreciate rest that much more.  It tastes so much sweeter.
