We needed to collect a lot of things in order to have the girls come live with us. I am a list maker and so every time something would cross my mind I would add it to the list. I finally decided to put it on Facebook to see if people might have some of the stuff we needed on their list to get rid of anyway.
If we needed to, we could have purchased all of the items we needed. Granted, it’s not how I would have liked to use our resources, but if we needed to, we could have done it.
Yet, thanks to the amazing people we get to call friends, ALL of it was donated, lent or purchased on our behalf.
It occurred to me how sad it is, that although we have the resources, we also have access to others with those same resources. Yet, here is this mom with these two girls no longer in her care who has no access to those kind of resources. She can’t go buy a new car seat if she needs one. Or purchase a matching bedding set for her girls. Nor does she have a friend group that she can reach out to and ask for help, who will pour into her the blessings that we received. How do we fix that? How do we tap into our resources to better connect with the people who really actually NEED that kind of help?
