We Heart Girls Inc

One of my new favorite organizations - Girls Inc.  I saw a flier come home in my kid’s school folder about summer camp weeks at Girls, Inc.  There was also a sentence that said “Scholarships available.”   Love that phrase.  So, like I’ve been doing for the last couple weeks, I emailed them and explained our situation of taking in these 2 foster girls unexpectedly, faced with 4 kids between 4 ½ and 6 ½ all summer, and looking to see if they could offer financial assistance to help provide some reprieve for the older of the 2 girls.  They said MAYBE!   They were willing to try to work with me.  Yippee!!  First positive response I have gotten, and it came on a day when I really needed it!  (See previous post)

After submitting a letter and filling out some paperwork, they came back with a fee of $35 per week to have her there.  That is 5 days a week, from as early as 7:30am and as late as 6pm.  They feed her 2 snacks AND LUNCH!!!!  For $35 per week.  Thank you Jesus, for once again, providing for us.  And it is right around the corner from us.  We can walk, we can ride bikes, it is easy to make this work. 

So, I started taking Isabella there for the afternoons after her ½ day summer school got out to give us a little more freedom.  She LOVES IT!  We love it.  It’s so fantastic.  When summer school is over, she'll go full time.
