Bryan came hopping down the hall on one foot. Mom I stepped in something and I wiped it on my finger and I think it's poop. I called him over expecting to see a chewed up raisin or some other disgusting chunk of food that he was mistaken for human excrement. But upon my own inspection I had to agree, it looked like poop!
I scoured the carpet and was unable to locate where he could have picked it up. Even more concerning. All I could come up with was maybe someone sloppily wiped themselves and a chunk landed on their pants and then that chunk dropped off on the carpet when they left the bathroom. The person I most expected this from was the older of our 2 new ones, she tends to have little problems like this. Roger takes her into the bathroom to inspect her clothing and discovers she has dropped a complete load in her pants. She's 5 1/2 and fully potty trained. For no reason we can discover, she decided to poop her pants. And we assume some must have escaped and hit the carpet, upon which Bryan stepped in and then wiped with his finger. EW! So that delayed our heading out the door to watch fireworks last night.

Oh but the joy of bodily functions didn't stop there. Tonight, Kayle decided she was having a very hard night. She woke up at 9:30pm crying. I went in to comfort her. A few minutes later she cried again. This pattern repeated itself over and over for the next hour. At 10:30 we finally said, let's just let her cry it out for a few minutes and see if she can settle herself down. Becuase our going in there time after time didn't seem to be effective. She was so tired, she just needed to sleep! Within 3 minutes she escalated her screams to such a panic that she made herself throw-up. All over her bed, pillow, sheets, and blankets. We had pasta with marinera sauce for dinner. And blueberries, strawberries and yogurt for dessert. Oh my, what fun it was to wash those at 10:45 at night!
This is the daily fun we get to live. I am glad this didn't all happen next week when Roger will be in Hong Kong. So much more fun to get to endure this kind of entertainment with a friend to laugh through it with.
